Pitch in! Contribute to our “DAPPER DAY Holiday Outing to WDW”

As our park outings are not private events, they do not generate any income for us, and any help would be appreciated. 

For over a decade I’ve enjoyed organizing outings and events where we “step out in style” together, and I’ve personally covered all associated costs with income from my freelance design and consulting work. But as DAPPER DAY has grown, managing it has become my full time job, allowing little time for other pursuits. And then Covid happened – stopping nearly all our event income for 2 years, followed by dramatic price increases (for pretty much everything), then a string of other challenges beyond our control (like the elimination of our WDW hotel commissions which had helped fund our WDW outings), and now the tariff situation is threatening not just our clothing and accessories business but that of our many vendors and exhibitors we include at many of our events. 

So, a whole rethink was needed to plot a sustainable path forward for all that we do, allowing us to continue organizing our fabulous outings that bring so many people together.

• An initial $2,500 of support will greatly help with general business and labor expenses related to organizing our DAPPER DAY Holiday Outing to Walt Disney World. This work (done almost entirely by me 😙) involves graphics design, responding to questions/comments/emails, promotion, website, legal, and insurance -related expenses, plus taxes, and Shopify/fundraising app fees.
  
• An additional $2,200 will allow us to provide photo coverage of the event. This has been a feature of nearly every outing since the beginning, paid for solely by me, with our photos posted as a free album on our Facebook page following each event. We try our best to capture the spirit of the day and as many of the best looks as we can. Sadly it is simply impossible to get a photo of everyone who joins us as thousands of people attend these events (and we usually have just one very overworked photographer). Donations will help cover park admission, photographer compensation, photo editing/management, transportation, post-event social media, digital photo editing and storage software.
  
  
• And the final $750 will go towards production and distribution of our free 1” circle buttons created for the event. This helps with graphics, printing/fabrication, shipping, and related labor. If this portion is not fully funded I will make only as many buttons as funding allows. (We intend to continue offering 2 free event buttons with each online order from our eShop at DapperDay.com, while supplies last, in the period around our event dates.)

If everyone who enjoys our WDW park outings pitches in just a couple dollars we can reach all these goals and allow us a path towards continuing these outings. If you are appreciative of the work I have done conceiving of and maintaining Dapper Day events for over a decade, please consider contributing.

Any additional funding beyond these goals will contribute to greater promotion of the event (flyers, paid social media promotion) and possibly greater event coverage and/or another photographer (like me!). Please note, my flights, hotel, and park admission are not included in the above breakdown. I have not been able to afford to join my own WDW events for a few years now but if the funding goal above is exceeded I hope to finally return for this outing and provide on-site social media coverage as I do with our CA events.

We hope to have a pop-up shop on-property but that is at Disney’s discretion. We will keep you updated.

This is all very new for us! So expect we’ll need to make tweaks and adjustments on the tech end as well as other details as we try this out. (I’m also working on ways to acknowledge major donors – maybe with a special pin, and/or including their names on the event page – we’ll see! I’m also exploring becoming a proper non-profit organization.)

2025 Holiday Outing to Walt Disney World

Dress up a little, or a lot! Our events celebrate individual style from vintage classics to contemporary looks - this time with a Winter Holiday twist! Active and retired service members are encouraged to wear their dress uniforms if they like.

In-park meet up details may be posted closer to the event dates.
To be respectful of other guests, and to avoid disrupting normal park operations, we do not organize any large group photos.

Please note: Our outings to Disney’s parks are not private ticketed events. Regular theme park admission is required as usual. A theme park reservation may also be required for entry.
